Each spring, Texas Hill Country bursts into color as fields of bluebonnets, Texas Indian Paintbrush, pink evening primrose, and other native wildflowers blanket the landscape. This seven-day journey combines the beauty of wildflower season with visits to some of Texas' most celebrated destinations, historic sites, and cultural landmarks.
You'll explore San Antonio's rich heritage, stroll the famous River Walk, discover the state's Spanish colonial history at the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, and experience the charm of Fredericksburg. Along the way, you'll visit the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, tour the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library, enjoy a winery tasting, and spend a full day at Magnolia Market in Waco.

Day 1: Welcome to Texas!

Day 2: Western Art/San Antonio Botanical Garden
Depart Austin and travel towards San Antonio. Visit the Briscoe Western Art Museum and learn about the artifacts, stories, and artwork that shaped the American West. Enjoy lunch and time on your own at the historic Pearl District, a vibrant community home to a beautiful farmer's market featuring local artisans. Continue on to the San Antonio Botanical Garden. Tonight, check into your hotel on the historic River Walk and enjoy dinner with your travel companions. B, D
Day 3: San Antonio Missions/River Walk
Today, immerse yourself in the history of San Antonio with a local expert. Start with a visit to the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in Texas. Explore the largest concentration of Spanish colonial missions in North America. Stroll along San Antonio's first suburb, King William, settled in the 19th century by prosperous German merchants who displayed their wealth through extravagant homes. This afternoon, enjoy free time to explore the San Antonio River Walk. B, L
Day 4: Fredericksburg
This morning, head to Fredericksburg, located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Visit Wildseed Farms, where fields of wildflowers are grown for the production of seed. Enjoy a tour and tasting at a local Fredericksburg winery before exploring the historic downtown which blends rich German heritage with a laid-back charm. B, L
Day 5: LBJ Library/Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
Limestone cliffs, granite outcroppings, and hidden springs are a perfect habitat for wildflowers in Hill Country. You'll witness this wonderful area up close in the morning light as you travel from Fredericksburg toward Austin. En route, wind through the back roads to see the region's blooming flowers. The group will continue on to Austin, where the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library offers an inspiring journey through the life of the 36th President. This is also a great introduction to our next stop, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. From collecting seeds to designing and installing green roofs, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin realizes its mission through ecological design, research, plant conservation, and landscape restoration. Day 6: Magnolia Market
Spend today exploring Magnolia Market, the creation of HGTV power couple Chip and Joanna Gaines. Visit the beautifully designed gardens and shops, plus the Silos Baking Co. filled with Joanna's personal recipes. Hop aboard the Silo District Trolley to tour downtown Waco at your leisure. This evening, a delicious BBQ farewell dinner is in order. B, D
Day 7: Farewell
Depart Texas with fond memories and new friends. B

Our Welcome Dinner on Day 1 is at our hotel, Hilton Garden Inn Austin Airport, starting at 6:30 p.m. We recommend scheduling your flight to arrive by 4:00 p.m.
Departure Time
Schedule your flight home to depart the Austin Airport any time after noon on Day 7.

Our starting hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to/from the Austin Airport. If you are driving to the starting location, they also offer complimentary parking for the duration of the tour.
Walking Distance
To fully enjoy your vacation, you should be in good physical health and understand there are times when a good deal of walking is involved in our tours. Those who have difficulty walking may not want to take this trip or should discuss their personal situation with their doctor before deciding. You should be able to walk at a steady pace up to a mile at a time for a daily total of three to four miles per day and be able to manage steps to board/de-board the motorcoach several times a day. In addition, please know you may be expected to exit the motorcoach at each stop because local law requires mandatory motorcoach driver breaks.
Due to the lack of proper facilities at some of the farms, ranches, and off-the-beaten-path sites we often visit, we are unable to accommodate walkers and wheelchairs.
