DAY 1: WELCOME TO SOUTHERN FLORIDA!

DAY 2: FORT LAUDERDALE
Discover why Fort Lauderdale is known as the “Venice of America” during a guided city tour featuring scenic waterways, elegant homes, and palm-lined streets. This afternoon, board the Carrie B. for a relaxing sightseeing cruise before enjoying dinner at a local favorite restaurant. B, D
DAY 3: SHARK VALLEY
Experience the remarkable landscapes of Everglades National Park with a visit to Shark Valley. Relax aboard a narrated tram ride through America’s largest subtropical wilderness while watching for alligators and other wildlife native to the wetlands. Later, visit the Biscayne National Park Visitor Center for a ranger-led program before continuing to Homestead for a two-night stay. B, L
DAY 4: FLAMINGO
Travel deeper into the Everglades to the Flamingo area for a comfortable backcountry boat tour along the saltwater coast. Keep an eye out for manatees, crocodiles, and a variety of tropical birds that thrive in this unique ecosystem. Later, visit the Anhinga Trail for additional wildlife viewing before returning to Homestead. B, L
DAY 5: KEY WEST
Travel the scenic Overseas Highway along US-1 through the Florida Keys to colorful Key West, the southernmost point in the continental United States. Explore the island aboard a narrated trolley tour before enjoying free time to browse shops, visit museums, or relax along the waterfront. This evening, enjoy a local seafood dinner at Conch Republic Seafood before checking in for a two-night stay in Key West. B, D
DAY 6: KEY WEST FREE DAY
Today is yours to enjoy at your own pace in Key West. Choose the optional excursion aboard the Yankee Freedom ferry to remote Dry Tortugas National Park, where you’ll tour historic Fort Jefferson and enjoy time to explore the island. Or spend the day discovering Key West’s unique attractions, shops, museums, and waterfront atmosphere on your own. B
Option—Dry Tortugas Day Trip This full-day excursion includes round-trip ferry transportation aboard the Yankee Freedom, a guided tour of Fort Jefferson, lunch, and free time to explore the island. More information available upon request
DAY 7: MARATHON KEY
Enjoy a relaxed morning in Key West before traveling north along scenic US-1 toward mainland Florida. Stop at the Dolphin Research Center in Marathon Key to learn about dolphin conservation and the important work being done to protect these remarkable marine animals. This evening, gather with your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner and overnight stay in Fort Lauderdale. B, D
DAY 8: RETURN HOME
After breakfast, say farewell to southern Florida as you return home with memories of tropical scenery, remarkable wildlife, and relaxing days in the Florida Keys and Everglades. B

Our Welcome Dinner on Day 1 is at our hotel, SpringHill Suites Fort Lauderdale Dania Beach, starting at 6:30 p.m. We recommend scheduling your flight to arrive at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) by 4:00 p.m.

Walking Distance
To fully enjoy your vacation, you should be in good physical health and understand there are times when a good deal of walking is involved in our tours. Those who have difficulty walking may not want to take this trip or should discuss their personal situation with their doctor before deciding. You should be able to walk at a steady pace up to a mile at a time for a daily total of three to four miles per day and be able to manage steps to board/de-board the motorcoach several times a day. In addition, please know you may be expected to exit the motorcoach at each stop because local law requires mandatory motorcoach driver breaks.
Due to the lack of proper facilities at some of the farms, ranches, and off-the-beaten-path sites we often visit, we are unable to accommodate walkers and wheelchairs.
