The highlight of the tour will be a thrilling day at Cheyenne Frontier Days, including a special behind-the-scenes tour and time to soak in the iconic rodeo experience. Known as the world’s largest outdoor rodeo and Western celebration, Cheyenne Frontier Days offers a once-in-a-lifetime glimpse into authentic cowboy culture and American Western heritage celebrated since 1897.

DAY 1: WELCOME TO DENVER
The tour will begin in Denver starting with a welcome dinner where you will have the chance to meet your tour director and fellow travelers. D

DAY 2: ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK
Start with a morning departure from Denver, heading first to the historic mining town of Idaho Springs — a great place to get a feel for Colorado’s gold rush roots. After that, it’s on to the scenic town of Grand Lake, where you’ll have some free time to explore, relax, and grab lunch on your own. We will hit the road again for a stunning drive through Rocky Mountain National Park, where the rugged peaks, sweeping views, and chances to spot local wildlife make for an unforgettable ride. We’ll drive along Trail Ridge Road, the highest continuous paved road in the U.S. and a designated All-American Road. B

DAY 3: GARDENS ON SPRING CREEK/FORT COLLINS/FLY FISHING
The day begins with a visit to The Gardens on Spring Creek, a serene 12-acre botanical oasis known for its diverse plant life and beautiful landscapes. From there, the journey continues with a nostalgic ride on the historic Fort Collins Trolley, offering a relaxed and charming way to take in the city’s rich history and vibrant neighborhoods. The afternoon winds down by watching a live fly fishing demonstration by experts from St. Peter’s Fly Shop, showcasing casting techniques and sharing insights into the region’s renowned fishing culture. DAY 4: DAIRY FARM/BISON TRAIN/CHEYENNE DEPOT/DELANCEY RANCH
This morning, take a guided tour of a local farm where you will learn about farming practices and enjoy samples of fresh, locally produced dairy products. After, head to Cheyenne for the next couple of days for a Western adventure. We’ll begin with a truly unique train experience that travels through pastures of Bison before diving into the history of the railroad and its impact on Cheyenne. Finally, partake in a special dinner at the DeLancey Family Ranch that gives a glimpse of the rodeo atmosphere. B, L, D

DAY 5: CHEYENNE FRONTIER DAYS
Today is the “Daddy of ‘em all,” the Cheyenne Frontier Days. We’ll start with the Behind the Chutes Tour where you will get an exclusive look at the rodeo grounds, animal holding areas, chutes, and operations of what make this event world-renowned. After the tour, explore the history of the Frontier Days at the Old West Museum. Visit the Native American Village, Old Frontier Town, vendor booths, and entertainment throughout the area, while also taking in the exciting rodeo events of the day from the grandstand. B

DAY 6: SUNRISE MINES/OREGON TRAIL/FORT LARAMIE
This day will retrace the steps of history with the first stop at Sunrise Mines, once a bustling iron ore site that played a key role in early industry. From there, head to Register Cliff, where travelers on the Oregon Trail carved their names into the soft sandstone as a record of their journey west. Just a few miles away, walk alongside the impressive Guernsey Ruts, where thousands of wagon wheels wore deep grooves into the rock. The day continues at Fort Laramie, a pivotal 19th-century military outpost that served as a hub for pioneers, traders, and Native American relations. After a day rich in history and frontier landscapes, the tour returns to Cheyenne in the evening. B, L, D

DAY 7: RETURN HOME
After an unforgettable route experiencing the multifaceted layers of the Western part of the United States, return home with memories cherished forever. B x

Arrival Time
Our Welcome Dinner on Day 1 is at our hotel, Hyatt Place Denver Airport, starting at 6:30 p.m. We recommend scheduling your flight to arrive by 4:00 p.m.

Departure Time
Schedule your flight home to depart the Denver Airport any time after 1:00 p.m. on Day 7.

Airport Transportation / Vehicle Parking
Our starting hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to/from the Denver International Airport. If you are driving to the starting location, they also offer complimentary parking for the duration of the tour.

Walking Distance
To fully enjoy your vacation, you should be in good physical health and understand there are times when a good deal of walking is involved in our tours. Those who have difficulty walking may not want to take this trip or should discuss their personal situation with their doctor before deciding. You should be able to walk at a steady pace up to a mile at a time for a daily total of three to four miles per day and be able to manage steps to board/de-board the motorcoach several times a day. In addition, please know you may be expected to exit the motorcoach at each stop because local law requires mandatory motorcoach driver breaks.

Due to the lack of proper facilities at some of the farms, ranches, and off-the-beaten-path sites we often visit, we are unable to accommodate walkers and wheelchairs.

Dress on tour is casual. Sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, visors, and comfortable walking shoes will add to your enjoyment of this tour. For the Frontier Days, you may want to pack your best Western Wear

Elevation information: Please note that elevations do reach up to 12,183 feet on this tour while traveling along Trail Ridge Road. If you are prone to altitude sickness, you may want to book a pre-night stay to fully acclimate.
