DAY 1: WELCOME TO UTAH!

Welcome to Salt Lake City, “the Crossroads of the West.” Settle in for a two-night stay and get to know your fellow travelers at a welcome dinner. D

DAY 2: TEMPLE SQUARE

Don’t miss your chance to explore the Salt Lake Temple from the inside! Closed to the public since its 1893 dedication, this architectural masterpiece will be elegantly unveiled in 2027 for a rare, limited-time public open house. See the grandeur, artistry, and history up close—before it closes again after its dedication. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience you’ll remember forever. B, L

DAY 3: SALT LAKE CITY TO MOAB

All aboard the Canyon Spirit for a breathtaking three-day luxury train adventure. Travel along stunning landscapes, through the historic Thistle Tunnels, and over Soldier Summit. Follow the dramatic curves of Price River Canyon before arriving in Moab, a desert town alive with color, charm, and unforgettable scenery. Take in the sunset, wander the streets, and let the adventure continue. B, L

DAY 4: MOAB TO GLENWOOD SPRINGS

Enjoy a leisurely morning in Moab, a gateway to Utah’s iconic red rock landscapes, with time to relax or explore the area’s natural beauty. Depart in the early afternoon aboard the Canyon Spirit and delight in a freshly prepared lunch and dinner as the train winds across the Utah-Colorado border. Dramatic mountain vistas and rolling landscapes set the stage for your arrival in the welcoming resort town of Glenwood Springs. B, L, D

DAY 5: GLENWOOD SPRINGS TO DENVER

Leave Glenwood Springs aboard the Canyon Spirit and enjoy lunch while the scenery unfolds outside your window. Travel through rugged canyons, follow the twists of the Colorado River, and cross the iconic Continental Divide before reaching the vibrant city of Denver. B, L

DAY 6: DENVER

Experience Denver like never before on a guided city tour, bringing the city’s history and energy to life. Stand beneath the gleaming gold dome of the Colorado State Capitol and take in sweeping views of the city and mountains beyond. Arrival Time

Our Welcome Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. on Day 1. We recommend scheduling your flight to arrive at Salt Lake City International Airport by 4:00 p.m.

Departure Time

You may schedule your flight home from Denver International Airport any time on Day 7.

Airport Transportation / Vehicle Parking

We ask that you utilize Uber, Lyft, or a taxi to transfer between the airport and the starting/ending hotels on this tour. Keep your receipts and email or mail them to us following your tour. We will reimburse up to $100 per person. You may submit these to Reservations@CountryTravelDiscoveries.com or by mail to our office within 30 days of the tour ending.

Walking Distance

To fully enjoy your vacation, you should be in good physical health and understand there are times when a good deal of walking is involved in our tours. Those who have difficulty walking may not want to take this trip or should discuss their personal situation with their doctor before deciding. You should be able to walk at a steady pace up to a mile at a time for a daily total of three to four miles and be able to manage steps to board and deboard the motorcoach several times throughout the tour. In addition, please know you may be expected to exit the motorcoach at each stop because local law requires mandatory motorcoach driver breaks.

This tour includes three days aboard the Canyon Spirit luxury train. Travelers should be comfortable climbing steps to board and deboard the train and moving through the rail cars during the journey.

Due to accessibility limitations at some attractions and rail facilities, we are unable to accommodate walkers and wheelchairs on this tour.

Most accommodations arranged by Country Travel Discoveries are equipped with in-room amenities such as a hair dryer, iron, and coffee maker. In addition, some properties may also offer a pool, fitness center, or laundry facilities.

A total of three mailings are sent to assist you in preparing for your tour, including information sent upon receipt of your reservation.

Dress throughout the tour is casual. Layers are recommended, as temperatures can vary between the desert landscapes and higher mountain elevations. Comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat will help you enjoy your time both onboard the train and during sightseeing.

Please note that elevations do reach up to 4,000 - 5,800 feet on this tour. If you are prone to altitude sickness, you may want to book a pre-night stay to fully acclimate. Cooler weather can also prevail at higher elevations.
