DAY 1: WELCOME TO BOSTON!

This evening, meet your Tour Director and friendly travel companions for a Welcome Dinner in Boston. D

DAY 2: HISTORIC BOSTON

Today, discover the heart of America’s Revolutionary past as you explore Boston’s historic quarter. Travel down the Freedom Trail to notable sites including the Paul Revere House, the Old North Church, Bunker Hill Monument, and USS Constitution. This afternoon, explore Boston’s historic Faneuil Hall Marketplace, home to over 100 restaurants and shops. Conclude the day with a visit to America’s most beloved ballpark, Fenway Park, home of the legendary Boston Red Socks. B, D

DAY 3: LEXINGTON THE 250TH ANNIVERSARY

This morning, immerse yourself in literary history with a visit to two renowned sites. Explore the natural beauty of Walden Pond, which inspired Henry David Thoreau, and the history of the Orchard House, where Louisa May Alcott wrote Little Women. Next, step back in time to 1775 on a historical guided tour of Lexington Battle Green, Battle Road, and the surrounding sites of Minute Man National Historical Park. Visit the Old North Bridge, where the Revolutionary War began. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant with free time to stroll through the historic downtown and discover charming shops. B, L

DAY 4: PLYMOUTH, PILGRIMS/CAPE COD

Say farewell to Boston as we travel to America’s hometown, Plymouth. Enjoy the day with our local guide as we travel to the newly restored Mayflower II, a reproduction of the ship that brought the Pilgrims to the New World. After a visit to the Pilgrim Hall Museum, we will board the Board the Pilgrim Bell, a traditional paddlewheel boat harbor cruise. Enjoy views of the Mayflower II, Bug Light, the Gurnet, and Clark’s Island as you sail along the coast. On the way to Cape Cod we travel through Sandwich, the oldest town on Cape Cod. Sandwich became the site of one of America’s largest glass factories, an industry that flourished during the 19th century. Continue to Hyannis, where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night. B, D

DAY 5: ROUTE 6A/WHALE WATCH

Travel historic Route 6A, the Old King’s Highway, a scenic byway winding through centuries of Cape Cod history. View a Cape Cod lighthouse and windmill along with a visit to the Cape Cod National Seashore Visitor’s Center. Sand dunes and the ocean surround you as you approach “Land’s End” Provincetown which sits at the extreme tip of Cape Cod. Take some time to enjoy the wonderful variety of restaurants, shops, and galleries that make this artists/fishermen village so unique. This afternoon, board an excursion vessel for an amazing whale watching experience with an onboard naturalist. You will travel into the natural habitat of a diverse marine environment where you will try to spot Humpback, Minke, and Fin Whale. End your day with a delicious dinner together. B, D

DAY 6: WOODS HOLE OCEANOGRAPHIC/DOWN ISLAND TOUR

Today you will travel to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI). It was WHOI’s research vessel, the Knorr, that found the HMS Titanic off the coast of Newfoundland in 1985. We will then board the Steamship Authority to the island of Martha’s Vineyard for our Down Island tour. Learn about the history and lifestyles of the islanders as you pass through the picturesque villages. Spend time wandering the historic whaling town of Edgartown. Complete your day on the island in Oak Bluffs strolling through “Cottage City” with its brightly painted cottages and decorative “gingerbread” trim. Depart the island and enjoy a farewell dinner with your fellow travelers. B, D

DAY 7: FAREWELL

Say goodbye to your travel companions over breakfast before heading back to Boston for your journey home. B

Arrival Time
Our Welcome Dinner on Day 1 is at our hotel, Boston Logan Courtyard by Marriott, starting at 6:30 p.m. We recommend scheduling your flight to arrive by 4:00 p.m.

Departure Time
Schedule your flight home to depart the Boston Airport any time after 1:00 p.m. on Day 7.

Airport Transportation / Vehicle Parking
Our starting hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to/from the Boston Logan Airport. If you are driving to the starting location, they also offer complimentary parking for the duration of the tour.

Walking Distance

To fully enjoy your vacation, you should be in good physical health and understand there are times when a good deal of walking is involved in our tours. Those who have difficulty walking may not want to take this trip or should discuss their personal situation with their doctor before deciding. You should be able to walk at a steady pace up to a mile at a time for a daily total of three to four miles per day and be able to manage steps to board/de-board the motorcoach several times a day. In addition, please know you may be expected to exit the motorcoach at each stop because local law requires mandatory motorcoach driver breaks.

Due to the lack of proper facilities at some of the farms, ranches, and off-the-beaten-path sites we often visit, we are unable to accommodate walkers and wheelchairs.
