DAY 1: WELCOME TO NEW MEXICO!

Fly into Albuquerque, host of the dazzling 2027 International Balloon Fiesta, the world’s premier balloon event. Meet your fellow travelers and Tour Director during an evening welcome reception. D

DAY 2: BALLOON FIESTA MASS ASCENSION

Start your morning at the Dawn Patrol Show before watching the breathtaking Mass Ascension, when hundreds of brilliantly colored hot air balloons rise into the sky. Enjoy the experience from your exclusive seating on the launch field or stroll among the balloons for an up-close view of the excitement. Then explore the traditions, art, and craftsmanship of New Mexico’s 19 pueblos at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center before enjoying lunch in the museum’s Pottery Room. B, L

DAY 3: ALBUQUERQUE/BALLOON GLOW

This morning, you may choose an optional hot air balloon ride at your own expense or enjoy a relaxing morning at the hotel. Later, travel aboard the Sandia Peak Aerial Tram on a scenic 2.7 mile ride above the Cibola National Forest to Sandia Peak. As evening arrives, experience the unforgettable Balloon Fiesta Glow, where hundreds of illuminated balloons light up the night sky in a dazzling display of color. B, D

DAY 4: NEW MEXICO CAPITOL

Travel to Santa Fe, the nation’s oldest capital city, where Spanish and Native influences blend beneath the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Visit the New Mexico Capitol Building to admire works of art and learn more about the state’s history. Then enjoy lunch and a cooking demonstration at the Santa Fe School of Cooking, where you’ll sample the distinctive flavors of New Mexico. Later, explore Santa Fe with a local step-on guide and visit Loretto Chapel to discover the mystery surrounding the miraculous staircase. B, L

DAY 5: EXPLORE SANTA FE

Visit the Santa Fe Farmers’ Market, one of the oldest and most successful growers markets in the country. This afternoon, enjoy free time to wander Santa Fe’s charming streets, browse local galleries and shops, or simply relax and soak in the city’s distinctive atmosphere at your own pace. B, D

DAY 6: RETURN HOME

Return home from Albuquerque with incredible photos and wonderful memories of your time in New Mexico and the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. B

Arrival Time

Our Welcome Dinner on Day 1 is at our hotel, DoubleTree Airport Hotel, starting at 6:30 p.m. We recommend scheduling your flight to arrive by 4:00 p.m.

Departure Time

You may schedule your flight home with flight departure times after 1:00 p.m. on Day 6 from the Albuquerque Airport. We will make a stop at the Albuquerque Airport followed by a stop at the DoubleTree Airport Hotel, Albuquerque for those who have post nights.

Airport Transportation / Vehicle Parking

Our starting hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to/from the Albuquerque Airport. If you need parking, please contact us in advance, and we will be happy to discuss available options.

Walking Distance

To fully enjoy your vacation, you should be in good physical health and understand there are times when a good deal of walking is involved in our tours. Those who have difficulty walking may not want to take this trip or should discuss their personal situation with their doctor before deciding. You should be able to walk at a steady pace up to a mile at a time for a daily total of three to four miles per day and be able to manage steps to board/de-board the motorcoach several times a day. In addition, please know you may be expected to exit the motorcoach at each stop because local law requires mandatory motorcoach driver breaks.

Due to the lack of proper facilities at some of the farms, ranches, and off-the-beaten-path sites we often visit, we are unable to accommodate walkers and wheelchairs.

Dress on tour is casual. Sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, visors, and comfortable walking shoes will add to your enjoyment of this tour.

Please note that elevations do reach up to 5,300 - 7,000 feet on this tour. If you are prone to altitude sickness, you may want to book a pre-night stay to fully acclimate. Cooler weather can also prevail at higher elevations

Temperatures can fluctuate in this region, especially during the early morning Balloon Ascension and evening Balloon Glow. Bring a warm coat, gloves and a hat to stay comfortable during both events.
