Matt On the Map: Wild Western Adventure

Talk about a wild Western weekend! From rodeos to pioneer trails — Cheyenne Frontier Days is the ultimate celebration of the American West.

My adventure began with an exciting trip to Denver, where we got to explore the historic mining town of Idaho Springs. We took in the beauty of Colorado through Rocky Mountain National Park and driving along the Trail Ridge Road, a stunning paved road climbing to the tops of the Rockies. Then, we were given a warm Wyoming welcome and got to explore the Western countryside, even witnessing a live fly fishing demonstration by experts from St. Peter’s Fly Shop. Finally, we came to the day everyone was waiting for — the “Daddy of ‘em all,” Cheyenne Frontier Days!

This day brought behind-the-scenes rodeo access, Indian tacos, and world-class rodeo action that had us stomping our boots for more. We wrapped it all up with a historic road trip to Fort Laramie, the Oregon Trail, and more before heading back to Denver. It was fast, fun, and unforgettable — truly an 8-second ride through Western history and culture!

You do not want to miss this iconic all-American event next summer! Celebrate America's 250th anniversary with us on this wild Western adventure, Cheyenne Frontier Days!
