History Making Heritage

Kraków is a city rich with culture, architecture, and history. As one of the first five Cultural UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Kraków has a pull that brings in travelers worldwide to experience.

This prestigious title comes alive on our Regal Retreats of Europe tour, where walking the cobblestone streets and visiting some of Europe's most magnificent castles showcases the richness of the region's heritage.

Architectural Wonders

Kraków's Old Town has the largest medieval market square in Europe, the Rynek Glówny Square. Framed by the greenery of Planty Park, Kraków's square has architectural treasures such as St. Mary's Basilica, the Renaissance Sukiennice, and the Town Hall Tower. The Wawel Hill complex holds the stunning Wawel Castle and cathedral, which sets the cityscape with a breathtaking bow to the Polish kings of old who used to sit on the thrones of that land.

Home of Heritage and Intellect

Kraków is the former capitol of Poland as of 1596 AD before King Sigismund III Vasa moved the royal court to Warsaw. In the years of Kraków's Polish reign, cultural and intellectual breakthroughs set the city apart from others in Central Europe. In 1364, Jagiellonian University was founded. It is one of the oldest universities in Central Europe, setting the city apart as a center of academia. Intellect and culture brims the streets and is seen through Kraków's stunning statues. Some of our favorites are Pomnik Grunwaldzki - The Grunwald Monument, and the Monument of the Wawel Dragon!

Cultural Crossroads

This unique city is a multicultural wonder. Kraków is not only known as the home of Polish kings, but also as a bustling Jewish hub. Kazimierz is a vibrant Jewish and Catholic center whose synagogues and churches stand tall as a reminder of the city's rich multicultural heritage These two dynamic demographics have brought a beautiful crossroad of culture to Kraków. .
